FITT Agix® obtains EPD certification for semi-rigid ducts dedicated to HRV

In the Heat Recovery Ventilation sector, attention to sustainability, environmental transparency and material quality is now an increasingly central element in building design.
For this reason, FITT Agix® semi-rigid round ducts, designed for HRV applications, are certified EPD (Environmental Product Declaration), the Environmental Product Declaration that provides verified and comparable data relating to environmental impacts throughout the product life cycle.

The EPD certification is developed according to the international standards ISO 14025:2006 and EN 15804:2012 +A 2:2019 /AC:2021 and represents an internationally recognized tool for objectively communicating the environmental performance of construction products.

The EPD of FITT Agix® systems provides designers, clients and operators in the sector with transparent and reliable information regarding the environmental impacts of semi-rigid ducts for air distribution in Heat Recovery Ventilation (HRV) and HVAC applications.

An approach based on verified data and LCA methodology

The FITT Agix® EPD is based on the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) analysis, a methodology defined by the standards of the ISO 14040 series, which makes it possible to evaluate the environmental impacts associated with the product during its life cycle.

The analysis adopted follows the “cradle to gate” approach, thus considering the phases that go from the extraction of raw materials to the creation of the finished product ready for sale.

Thanks to independent verification and the use of standardized calculation rules for construction materials, the EPD represents a concrete tool to support more conscious design choices oriented to sustainability.
